Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) launched the Science and Technology (S&T) Seminar Series in Beijing on March 10, 2014. At the opening ceremony, Vice Minister and CAAS President Li Jiayang delivered a report on molecular design breeding for rice varieties as the first presentation of the Seminar.
According to Chen Mengshan, Secretary of the Leading Party Group of CAAS, the monthly Seminar, in the form of academic lecture series, brings together renowned domestic and overseas experts to exchange cutting-edge S&T advances, enlightening thoughts and innovative methodologies in agricultural researches. Hopefully, it will play a significant role in creating favorable learning environment and improving caliber of the whole agricultural technical team.
"We believe that the Seminar will be an open window to showcase CAAS' academic achievements and research capability," Chen noted, "and also a powerful engine to yield more remarkable progress for China's agriculture. "
